Homeslice (Neal's Yard)

Homeslice is one of the clearest cases in London of an imported (not Neapolitan) American pizza tradition: The Caterer's 2017 profile of founders Alan and Mark Wogan and Ry Jessup states plainly the pizzas are '20-inch numbers... stylistically owe far more to New York than Italy', a self-description the company repeats today. It began as Jessup's hand-built mobile wood-fired oven in 2011 and opened its first restaurant at 13 Neal's Yard in 2013, still trading at that address. The group entered administration in December 2024; the three restaurants, including Neal's Yard, continued trading through the process and remain listed as open in September 2026.

What to order

A whole 20-inch pizza to share, or by the slice for £4 — the format is the point (The Caterer, 2017).
